Dr Veronique Calleja obtained her PhD in 1999 in Molecular and Cellular Biology and Biochemistry from the University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis, France. She moved to London UK to undertake post-doctoral training in Cell Signalling and Gene Therapy for cancer at the London Research Institute and Imperial College. In 2003 she was appointed Senior Scientific Officer at Cancer Research UK and joined the Cell Biophysics Laboratory where she worked on interdisciplinary projects involving quantitative FRET-FLIM imaging to investigate molecular mechanisms of cell signalling. Since 2011 she has also been a member of the Editorial Advisory board of the Biochemical Journal in Signal Knowledge Environment. In 2016 she was appointed Principal Laboratory Research Scientist in the laboratory of Prof Peter Parker at the Francis Crick Institute in London where she worked on a genetically modified mouse model harbouring a deleterious mutation originally found in glioma tumours in humans. She joined Fastbase Solutions in October 2021.
